Wedding Guest Wear

Over the long Labor Day weekend, my family and I headed down to Falls Church, Virginia for my Mom’s godson’s wedding. Since we were only going to be spending two nights away, we wanted to avoid checking our luggage to save money. But with two events to dress for, the rehearsal dinner and the wedding, packing light could prove difficult. Here’s how I did it:

Left: Dress from J.Crew, earrings from Forever21, Badgley Mischka shoes, clutch from The Icing; Right: Cape Dress from Francesca’s, earrings from Christian Dior and pearls from Evereve

Both dresses that I picked were black and the materials were both seemingly wrinkle-proof. When I took them out of my carry-on I simply hung them in the bathroom with the shower on hot to steam them a little and then hung them in the closet.

I wore the same pair of high heels and the same clutch for both evenings. For the rehearsal dinner I wore the cape dress, Christian Dior earrings and the single strand of white and silver pearls. The next night I wore the J.Crew flare dress with the Art Deco Forever21 earrings.

I also changed it up with my hair and makeup. One night I rocked beachy texture, smokey eyes and nude lips while the next, a sleek bob and cat eye finished with a red lip.

Both nights I received numerous compliments on my outfits and no one noticed that I had repeated my shoes and clutch!

The parents of the groom who are also my godparents. Don’t they look dapper?

It was a beautiful wedding and a fun time was had by all!
