Must Know Mondays

During this time of year, my inner goth girl resurfaces. I pull out my dark lipstick, black nail polish, every black piece of clothing that I own (pretty much 80% of my wardrobe) and my coffin purse. I really enjoy October because it’s the one month I can embrace that side of me without getting any weird looks. After all, I live near Salem.  But anyways, here are a few articles that got my attention over the weekend. . .

If you’re feeling a little stressed out on this Monday … you’ve probably heard all about mindfulness. And you probably think you have no time for any sort of meditation. But I promise you – you do! Check out this guide that’ll help you become more mindful … even on your worst days. The New York Times also has a guide that goes a little more in depth into the topic.

If you  are a feminist … It was National Girl Day last Thursday and Michelle Obama wrote this great piece on the importance of education for girls. It is incredibly inspirational – you must take the time to read it.

If you’re a fitness fanatic … Good news! Fitness has been linked to slowing the aging process. Read all about it on The Zoe Report.

If you have a case of wanderlust … I’ve only been back from France for two months and I already want/need to go back. Here is one place we did not get to but is definitely on my list for next time!

Final thoughts:

Monday Mantra: “Being Normal is Boring.”

Song of the Week: This is Halloween” – Marilyn Manson

What I’m Reading: Ms. Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

What I’m Craving: Just made these Vanilla Chai Tea cupcakes and they were amazing.

What I’m Binging on: In anticipation of the new four part Netflix series, I’ve completely immersed myself in Gilmore Girls. I even went to a Gilmore Day event earlier this month that I’ll be sharing soon.
