Weekend Fun

I know I spoke about how much I love it when the weather gets warmer when I shared my favorite things to do in Spring. This weekend was a perfect example of how I come out of a sort of hibernation when temps reach the high 50s and 60s.

First up – a Saturday night movie with the family. My mom, sister, her boyfriend, my husband and me all went to see the new DisneyNature flick, Born in China, in honor of Earth Day. If you go this week, Disney will donate the proceeds of your ticket to help snow leopards and giant pandas in China – so go in the next few days! It’s a film that is good for the whole family. But bring your tissues – fair warning.

Then Alex and I took off to have a nice date night dinner at Border Cafe. I just love Mexican food and margaritas!

The next day my mom and I headed down to the Cape to visit some friends. We stayed and chatted for hours in a charming South Yarmouth home. The doors and windows were open and a cool, refreshing breeze wafted through the living room. It was just so relaxing. And I fell in love with how the napkins matched the location!

And of course, what good would it be to live in a lake community if I didn’t appreciate the gorgeous area we live in. I woke up to tea in bed on Sunday morning and then once we returned from the Cape, my husband cooked up some salmon burgers on our deck overlooking the Wakefield Common and beautiful Lake Quannopowitt.

Clockwise: (1) So hard to live in an area with a Gingerbread Construction Company. (2) I mean, just look at those muffins! (3) Tea in bed is the best way to start a Sunday. (4 & 5) Ending the weekend with a cookout overlooking the gorgeous Wakefield Common and Lake Quannopowitt.

What a wonderful way to end one week and start another!
