How To Turn a Wire Rack into an Instagrammable Marble Masterpiece

As my husband and I have been working on our house, some of the passed down furniture that we received when we first moved in has slowly been replaced by nicer, newer pieces. But let’s face it, sometimes you don’t need something that is merely decorative. You need something that is also going to be functional.

We’ve had this ugly white wire rack in our open concept livingroom/kitchen area and I’ve been using it to collect knick knacks. That was until I got a genius idea. Why not take that multi-purpose mess and turn it into an instagrammable marble masterpiece?

And it was so easy to do! All it took was some rose gold spray paint, a piece of leftover wood from an old project, some cooperation from my husband (Thank you babe!), marble contact paper and some patience.

Safety note: Never use spray paint indoors. Always take your project outside for proper ventilation.

All together, it cost under $50 for this neat DIY project. And I am so proud of how it came out! You can see the finished product and how I’ve styled it above. I am just loving how I can take the top off and use it for my flatlay photos. Not only do I have a beautiful shelving unit to house some of my most beloved trinkets, I also have a background that looks stunning on my Instagram feed!

What do you use for your flat lay photos? Do you have any “How To” ideas to share? Please let me know in the comments below. I’d love to hear from you!
